These are the only études Grigoriev composed specifically for tuba. They are very musical with a distinctive Russian style.

Grigoriev makes use of every major and minor key, legato and marcato styles, and wide range.

Although conceived for BBb tuba, these études work well for all tubas including CC, F and Eb.

With instructive text by L. Keating Johnson, additional text and musical examples by Wesley Jacobs, Grigoriev 50 Etudes is a comprehensive book for tubists.

Excellent resource for low register, sound, and phrasing development, as well as sight reading.

    really good book

Encore you should not take this book out of print. It is a really good addition to the tuba books already out there. It is one of the best books I own. Please rethink your decision.

The spiral binding and glossy cover add a nice aesthetic.

    Why go out of print

Posted by Tracey on 4th Feb 2018

This is a very good book for tuba. I used it a lot last year and my sound on low notes is better. I bought this second copy so when I wear out my old one I will have a new one. Too bad it is going away.

I already had these etudes in two separate books. This book is much better. Great comments by jacobs and johnson and photos etc. Also there is a nice section on tommy Johnson.
