These studies by Wilhelm Wurm, originally published as Difficult Studies, are generally regarded today as being of intermediate difficulty. Despite the change in perceived level, they continue to present both technical and musical challenges for developing trombonists.
Taken as a whole, these studies foster musical growth, technical proficiency, and stylistic awareness. Each study offers valuable opportunities to develop tone, articulation, flexibility, phrasing, and musicianship. As a result, Wurm’s studies remain an important part of the trombonist’s repertoire and pedagogical library.
