Mourning Dove for Solo Tuba and Piano by Megumi Kanda, principal trombone, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Mourning Dove is a beautiful solo piece for Tuba and piano. It's a poetic sketch of mother and child and their unshakable bond. It is a continuous piece of contrasting sections and styles that represent the hope, love, struggle and triumph of a mother mourning dove helping and protecting her baby. The work is challenging but fun for both player and listener, and is well suited for performance alone or within a full recital.
Approximately 10 minutes in length.

Megumi Kanda Mourning Dove
This is a wonderful solo work for all ability levels. With beautiful melodies throughout, this lyrical piece would be a great addition to any recital program. Now arranged specifically for tuba. Highly recommended!
