High Register Development for tuba volumes 1, 2 & 3 provides the knowledge necessary for tubists to build and master the upper register.
Book 1 focuses on building the foundation to support upper register expansion. Without a solid foundation in place, it is not possible to achieve the best results.
Players at all levels should begin with book 1. Even when working in books 2 and 3 it will be necessary to continue practice in book 1.
Book 1 is written for BBb and CC tubas.
The best book of its type

I have purchased all three of these high register books and I find them to be very useful. After one month I notice a difference in my ability to play in the high register (CC tuba). I rated these books five stars because they work, and they are the best (maybe the only) books of this type for tuba.
I have not used these books on my F tuba yet, but I plan to start soon.
After getting to know many of the studies I did notice something unusual. Mr. Jacobs seems to use Fibonacci ratios several different ways. I can not say for sure if this was intentional, or simply a coincidence, but I do find it interesting. I wish Mr. Jacobs had addressed this issue in the instructions. Does he have some special insight to suggest using the Fibonacci ratios? If so, please share it with us!
So, five stars, but I would like to have more info.
