Environmental Commitment

In recent years, Encore Music Publishers has undertaken various steps to reduce our impact on the environment. We are constantly looking for ways to become more environmentally responsible and to reduce our “footprint” as much as possible.

Equipment

• All of our electrical equipment has been certified as Energy Star™ by the U.S. Government Environmental Protection Agency. This includes (and is not limited to) computers, printers, scanners, storage devices, monitors and light bulbs.
• All electrical equipment is turned off when not in use.
• Heating and air conditioning are provided using high efficiency equipment set at Energy Star™ recommended settings.
• Warehouse temperature controls are set to the minimum levels required to protect stored music.

Policies and Materials

• All waste fiber is recycled.
• All interior book pages are printed on recycled paper.
• Water based inks are our top priority. If water based products are not available then we use plant-based inks. These choices greatly reduce VOC’s emitted into the atmosphere. (VOC level of 2-3% instead of the normal 30-40% for petroleum-based inks)
• All non-offset color printing is produced on Xerox™ Phaser™ solid-ink color printers. These devices are free of solvents and hazardous chemicals, emit no odors or fumes and generate miniscule amounts of solid waste.
• Our offset printers adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
